Clay and glaze two day workshop

Discover the world of clay and glaze during our two-day course! Learn how to turn a simple piece of clay into a beautiful, glazed work of art. In a relaxed environment, we will guide you through every step of the process, from shaping your creation to applying glaze. Whether you are new to working with clay or already have some experience, this course offers something new and exciting for everyone. We work with groups of maximum 6 people for good personal guidance.

After completing this course you will automatically become a member.
As a member you can register for the Open sessions for members . These cost €20 per lesson. During these lessons you work independently on your own projects, without time pressure or fixed assignments. Do you want to come more often? Then you can also purchase a member card, which is cheaper.

What can you expect during the course?

Day 1: Working with Clay
We start the first day with an introduction to working with clay. You will receive an explanation about the clay and the tools you can use to shape your creations. Then you will receive clay, enough to make a cup with a matching bowl, or a plant pot with a coaster. While enjoying tea and a snack, you will get started on your own design. There is enough time to let your creativity run free and make something unique! After this session you can leave your work in the studio to let it dry and then it will be fired for the first time so that the piece is ready for the next step.

Day 2: Glazing your Creation
After 1.5-2 weeks you will return for the second session: glazing! We will start the day with a nice cup of tea, while you will be explained about the different types of glaze and the techniques you can use to finish your work. You will learn how to mix colors, what engobe is and much more. With many examples for inspiration, you can then immediately start glazing your own creation. Once you are happy with your design, we will fire your work in the ceramic kiln and then your creation is ready to be picked up. If you want your artwork to be sent to your home address, we can also arrange that, but please note that shipping costs are not included in the price and at your own risk.

This course offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere where you can learn, experiment and develop your creative skills. It is a perfect opportunity to try something new and create something beautiful with your own hands!
